John
Logistics Coordinator
John has been the Logistics Coordinator at Troyer Post Buildings for approximately two years. In his role, he works directly with customers to gather important information about their build site readiness, delivery date preferences, and payment methods. Behind the scenes, he coordinates site checks and collaborates with the trucking manager to determine which builds go out each week.
Before coming to Troyer’s, John retired from a career in Child Welfare work. Some of his favorite memories since joining the company involve learning the ins and outs of post-frame and construction. A self-proclaimed lifelong learner, John appreciates the numerous opportunities to gain knowledge in this new field and especially enjoys seeing the “big picture view” of how organizations operate. One of his favorite aspects of the job is getting the chance to help improve internal systems, particularly through his work in Crew Support and using data to drive improvements.
John isn’t much of a traveler, but he has been to Canada and Mexico—Mexico is his favorite. A fun fact about him: he’s legally blind in one eye.
He’s an avid hiker and has recently discovered a love for trails like Dog Cove and Meadow Creek Park. His passions are wide-ranging but consistently center around vulnerable populations, including recovery communities, immigrant issues, poverty, and child welfare.
When he finds time to do woodworking, he gets completely immersed in the craft and loses track of time.
Day to day, John works with barn and barndo customers to schedule delivery and construction timelines, answering questions about site prep, payments, and anything else they need. He also coordinates with internal teams—including sales, accounting, trucking, the yard, and the Navigation Team—to gather and share information that helps everyone work more efficiently and adds value to the company.
