Extra Information

This Lexington build is a bit out of the ordinary in the most extraordinary ways possible! The shell was constructed with a full second-story, taking advantage of the space usually reserved for 18′ cathedral ceilings. The homeowner decided to tackle this project as his own GC and did every piece of work in this home by himself. Over 13,000 square feet of pine and poplar tongue-and-groove wood line the walls and ceiling throughout the entire home. He built the kitchen island himself on a base of pony walls, hand-cut the kitchen counters, and finished them himself. The ground floor features lovely polished concrete floors, and the upper level has light carpet that beautifully accents the wall and ceiling. The upper level, usually just a loft, was expanded to include a lovely reading nook, an additional bedroom, a full bathroom, a large family room, and additional storage. This home sits deep in a family farm, overlooking lush pastures visible from the reading nook and from the timber-framed front porch. It was a delight to step into this home after the customer finished it and before his family moved into their forever home.
